Any donation won't suck! The studio has a legacy dating back to 1949 with Mr. Connetti ( Les Paul's original guitar technician) who ran the studio from 1949-1979. Manfred Knoop took over the studio and owned it from 1979-2011. John Cannon officially launched the studio after years of modernizations, upgrades, and testing. NJsound.com has already helped artists from as far away as Bermuda, Florida, California and Connecticut and locally from Central NJ, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx. Create amazing art and music at NJ Sound Studio. John and his team of freelancers are ready and eager to help you capture the perfect production.
We play almost anything except vulgar, hateful things. We believe in the first ammendment but do want our station to stay pleasing to audiophiles. So if your song has curse words or distasteful phrases we may refuse to place it into rotation.
We do not pay artists for song plays.
Submissions must be mp3 format at least 128 kbps with an embedded image and be listed and findable on services like last.fm. Bios and Buy links will work for those tracks that are properly formatted. We do accept mp3s from artists on a budget who use bandcamp and other services. Unfortunately the buy link and bio links will not work properly. People will still hear your awesome track though!
We can submit your track to hundreds of independent radio stations around the world for a modest fee.

From accommodating us when we arrived early, to answering all our questions, the impromptu photo shoot, offer of refreshment, the professionalism & experience on the part of both the engineer & producer, assisting us in getting transportation back, etc! Great experience - felt very comfortable - highly recommend this studio!!
I used "NJ SOUND" to record my EP. It was an awesome experience. The owner John, makes you feel right at home and part of the family and the engineer Andrew is amazing. Andrew is a very skilled engineer, he gives great feedback and help you try to make your recording sound the best it can. I will definitely be back soon for my next project!!
Went to NJ Sound to record 3 original songs for piano and voice. John Cannon was very enthusiastic and friendly and went out of his way to accommodate me. For example, he rented a professional keyboard with weighted keys for me to use during the session. The session was very affordable and the studio was very easy to get to from NYC via public transportation. It's a very neat studio and has so much great gear. Really hope more people can get in there to record!
John and his team (I worked directly with him and his very talented intern Chris) are just terrific. They really care about the music you record and create a friendly and accompanying atmosphere. If you want a studio at a good price with people who will work to make your song sound the best it can then definitely check out NJ sound.
Not only is John great person, but also really knows his stuff, is always professional and pays attention to details. In short, he's a pleasure to work with.
The recording and editing was very efficient, and it was very easy to work there
Very professional and made you feel comfortable! Beautiful and very large studio space!
John's studio is pretty fantastic -- great spaces for tracking, with a large room and drum room getting those ambient sounds you crave. add an Amek mixing board and great people -- bam! a winner!
As a professional violinist, I've recorded in dozens of studios around the Tri-State area. NJsound is unquestionably one of the best!
This is a great resource in NYC / New Jersey for recording. John and his staff are excellent and sensitive to musicians' needs. Their equipment is top quality and their rates are reasonable. I would highly recommend it
